I like to have these Easy Homemade protein bars on hand for my family to grab on their way out the door or as a quick before or after-school snack. We take them on road trips, family outings or days when I know I might not have a chance to stop for lunch. I package the bars in a baggie or container to bring them with me to conferences (I always pack extra to share when curious friends and co-workers) These homemade protein bars cut nicely into squares and are absolutely perfect to take along on day hikes, long bike rides or simply to have available for when you come home starving.
They are easy to make (honest) and people love them (really). I run a small non-profit for women with cancer called The Healing Nest and we have a plate of these protein bars out for the ladies to snack on while they are visiting and waiting for their service. They look like blondies and taste delicious. Most all guests go back for seconds and we keep copies of the recipe now to hand out because someone always asks!
A friend gave me this handwritten recipe years ago and I had it saved on my phone. I am always having to search through my photos trying to find it when someone asks me to please share.
I do make mine with peanut butter however you can substitute with a seed butter or almond butter if you wish.
Enjoy!
