Strawberry Lemon Basil Smoothie

This Strawberry Lemon Basil Smoothie has all the fresh flavors of summer that is perfect for any time of day! The fragrant basil pairs beautifully with the strawberries and lemon making it the perfect summertime treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Frozen Strawberries Organic if possible
  • 6 Basil Leaves
  • 1 Fresh squeezed lemon juice If organic, include the peel
  • 8 oz Plant Milk
  • 2 scoops Plant Based Vanilla Protein Powder
  • ½ Banana Optional

Instructions
 

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
    For best results, add protein powder last.

Notes

This Strawberry Lemon Basil tastes like summer and is so refreshing any time of day. I always use organic lemons and toss in the entire peel. It will not only add an extra boost of flavor, but it will increase the nutritional value of your smoothie. 
Lemon peels contain vitamin C, calcium, potassium, fiber, and are high in antioxidants.
Even though we are using organic lemons, be sure to wash first under cool running water and scrub lightly using a vegetable brush.
